It is a recognized voluntary Non-Government Organization to help and serve the needy and underprivileged sections of the Society. In recognition of its social service, it has got representation in the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The Inner Wheel concentrates upon Friendship and Personal Service. It is not what is termed as “a money raising organization”, though each Club selects its own charities and channels of service. One of the greatest features of Inner Wheel is the opportunity given to its Members the world over to get to know one another, thus contributing to International Friendship and Understanding.

In Anerkennung seines sozialen Dienstes hat es bekommt Vertretung im Wirtschafts- und Sozialrat der Vereinten Nationen. Der Inner Wheel konzentriert sich auf Freundschaft und persönlichen Service. Es ist nicht das, was als „eine Geldbeschaffung Organisation“ bezeichnet wird, obwohl jeder Club seine eigene Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen und Kanäle von Service auswählt. Eines der besten Features von Inner Wheel ist die Möglichkeit, seine Mitglieder, die Welt übergeben, sich gegenseitig kennen zu lernen, damit zu internationalen Freundschaft und Verständigung beitragen.
